Battle of the books (2)

A long time ago i made a post saying that we lost our first competition in the battle of the books. Well, because of our leader (christine) we forgot that we had a battle and we were thrown out of the competition. Did i tell you that when all the teams battled, and they chose their final winner, the winning team can go on and battle other winning teams from other schools in the district. The winning team from our school was the gumballs. Unfortunaly, we got second or third place, i don’t remember. but still it was a huge improvement for our school.

Dasha Orlov and Marie Shmytova mime show

My Drama teacher told us to choose a partner and make a mime about magnets. She said that we can make it like we are the magnets or we find magnets and play with them. In case you couldn’t figure it out, Marie and I were looking for something to do. Then I saw a magnet. Marie picked it up and gave me the other half. Then we tried to pull them apart. It was really hard but we did it. I didn’t want to play with it anymore so i sat down and started typing. Then she came over and plugged the magnet into the computer. The computer started to go crazy, and then, well you can figure this out. Then we threw the magnets away and started to go do something else. The End.

Battle of the Books

Today was so exciting! we finally had our Battle of the Books competition today. Basically, Battle of the Books is a competition, where you have to get into a group, read the books assigned [16 of them] and at the end, there is a contest. Your group and another group will be answering questions that the librarian [Mrs. Myers] gives to us. One of the question she might gave us might be: “In what book, does a spider write words on her web.”  The answer will be “Charlotte’s Web.” The answer is always the name of the book. My team’s name was “Friendz Rule.” Unfortunately we lost. But it’s not over yet. We get a second chance. It’s a pretty complicating process. I hope i read lots of books!

My Brother’s 6th Birthday

I think you already know my brother, Dima. He is a nice little fellow, but he can be so annoying! You know how usually big brothers and sisters boss the little ones around, well it is the opposite in my family. He is only [now] 6 years old, and he kicks me every time I say something rude. It is so not fun having a little brother like this. But, i was excited for him at least once in my life, it was his birthday. He has his birthday in very unusually places. For example: Hawaii, Thailand, Mexico, Canada. But when he stays in Washington, he goes skating, rollerblading, skiing, all kinds of crazy stuff. This year, it was at Skate King. Skate King is a place where you can rent roller skates, and skate at a big arena.

Hello, and welcome to my world!

Hey viewers! My name is Dasha. I was born on December 15, 2001. Although, I was supposed to be born on December 21, 2001. This is how it all happened. December 15, 2001 2:45am It all started when my dad was driving to the hospital with my mom. Mom was barely holding herself together. She was moaning and occasionally yelling and screaming. A day before that, the doctor said that they are going to expect a girl a week from now. But I guess the doctor was wrong and I was born at the date that I was born at. At 3am they arrived at the hospital and dad helped mom into the doors. My mom was hooked up to the monitors and they sat, and waited. At 7:50am, mom asked for a shot so she could sleep, and not be hurt that much. At 4:05am they shot the shot and mom relaxed a little bit. At 7:00am they shot a VERY big shot and mom started to feel a little bit better. 9:20am waiting. 9:35pm still waiting. And later, this is what happened. My mom pushed and pushed, my head popped out, the doctor came running and was amazed how fast everything was happening. And exactly at 9:41am I came out into this world! Next, everything like usual, relatives came in, gave presents. I am so happy that I live in this world. Yay Me!!!
